Designed in London, PS by Paul Smith is a laid-back take on the iconic designer's

flagship collection. Aiming to complement everyday workwear with a laid-back take on tailoring and reinforce weekend wardrobes with solid basics, it offers a playful take on laid-back chic.

Inspired by the desire to travel and explore, the SS17 range of the diffusion line is designed to bring essential tropical vibes to our wardrobes. Combining palm leaf and cockatiel designs, the collection features prints that appear as repeating graphics on prominent pieces and as hidden details on the lining of clean pieces.

The resulting collection is a mix of outerwear, knitwear, jersey and denim,

 with technicalfabrics, loose cuts and athletic-inspired details. Think deconstructed suits, impeccably cut shirts, and enviable leather bombers.

Highlights include an embroidered souvenir jacket, which reinforces Paul Smith's ties to Japan and is almost certain to reignite excitement around the 2016 must-have. There's also a waterproof mac; Crafted from dry-blend cotton twill, the striking cobalt blue colourway and lightweight body combine to create a fresh take on the transitional wardrobe staple. Luxury sportswear continues to influence, with evidence ranging from subtle details on outerwear to oversized athletic stripes on organic cotton T-shirts. Meanwhile, separate unstructured pieces in a selection of modern colors and patterns offer a contemporary and relaxed approach to tailoring. As you would expect from the brand, quality is at the center of their concerns. When it comes to jeans, PS uses only the finest 13 oz unwashed indigo dyed selvage denim from Italy, flanked by the rest of the range in premium heavy leathers, soft cashmere blends and breathable merino wool.

Spring / Summer 2021 also sees the launch of the brand's bold new logo created by Fergus Purcell, the man behind the instantly recognizable triangle icon used by cult skate brand Palace. Add to that the opening of dedicated PS by Paul Smith stores around the world, including a new London store with neon pink designer signatures, polished concrete and convex mirrors, and PS is making a name for itself.
